No Bag For The Journey
By Joseph R. Martin

Even our best efforts and purest motives are clouded by our frail and corrupted human nature. But the love and grace of a sovereign God gets us where He wants us to go.

Struggling with life, uncertain about his future, a Christian youth minister from Pennsylvania undertook a solo cross-country bicycle ride to revitalize his faith. But, as he set out upon the arduous 2,700-mile, 43-day journey, Joseph Martin soon discovered that his faith and Christian beliefs would be challenged as never before.

Battling grueling heat, rough terrain, dangerous roads, illness, injuries, and personal doubts, Martin's bike ride quickly became a quest to rediscover the roots of his faith. His journey through 10 states forced the youth minister to reexamine his decision to pursue a career in ministry. But it was his stirring encounters with local residents who helped him along the way that ultimately confirmed his belief that God's grace surpasses the limitations of human nature.

Far from exhausted by the end of his journey, Joseph Martin arrived home filled with hope and renewed in his determination to serve the Lord. But it wasn't over. This story of Joseph's journey will inspire anyone who sometimes wrestles with questions of faith, hope, acceptance, and personal direction.
